David Stein was a prominent Jacksonville entrepreneur, business owner, and philanthropist. Among his many charitable endeavors were the “Stein Scholars” program at the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University and the “Stein Fellows,” a distinctive year-long initiative centered on community engagement and multi-generational mentoring. David was passionate about cultivating the next generation of leaders to enhance Jacksonville's greatness. The community inspired by his vision is known as “The Steiners.”
The Steiner network is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community where Stein Scholars and Stein Fellows can learn, inspire, and collaborate. In honor of David, this site continues his legacy by leveraging shared experiences and diverse perspectives to drive positive change. It offers a space for reconnecting with old friends and building new connections that may lead to exciting collaborations, career opportunities, and lifelong friendships.

David’s Legacy
David Stein was a dedicated philanthropist and a beloved figure in Jacksonville. Together with his wife, Linda, he supported numerous local nonprofits, including the Jewish Community Alliance, River Garden Senior Services, and the Mayo Clinic. Their generosity extended to institutions like Jacksonville University, UNF, and the Jacksonville Humane Society. The Steins' passion for education and community service led to the creation of the Stein Scholars program, which has fostered a spirit of service in students for over 25 years. They also launched the Stein Fellowship to prepare young professionals for philanthropic leadership. David's enduring legacy continues to inspire leaders and advocates across Northeast Florida.
